A Fundraising Success
Eureka Grocery Outlet held a successful Fundraising barbeque
on April 17th. Thank you to all their vendors for donating the food and drinks and to all the businesses that donated prizes. Thanks also to Dennis DelBiaggio, for having his #19 car at
the event and inviting lots of local racers. There were lots of cars to see and drivers to meet. Thanks also to the Boy Scouts helping with the barbeque. Thank you to everyone for attending and making this such
a huge success Rumor has it, there will be another barbeque in July! Watch for more information!

In 2009, our Dinner/Auction was a huge success. We thank all the people that donated items, all the people that attended, Cher-Ae Heights
Casino staff (thank you John!) and Rex Bohn, auctioneer extraordinaire.
Our 2009 goal was to make 2,000 care packages. Because we had such a great Dinner/Auction, we
were able to fill 4,000 care packages. Socks for Soldiers
shipped 2,000 to Iraq and Afghanistan. Colonel William Schafer, Ft. Bliss, TX, arranged shipment to Iraq of the other
2,000. What a banner year. Thank you one and all.
The first SFS cookbook was a huge success and you asked for another one, so Volume 2
is ready and at the locations listed below.
Thank you to all the people that submitted recipes. A special thank you to Guy Fieri of Food Network fame for submitting a delicious recipe.
Thanks to the children for their wonderful interviews that add so much to this cookbook. Sample interviews:
Question: How do you make potato salad? Rachel, age 6 answered, "We don't put potatoes in a salad. We only put lettuce and tomatoes. Did you mean
tomatoes?"
Question: How do you cook broccoli? Jeremy, age 6 replied, "Are you kidding? Why would I want to make that?"
